Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is making waves with his upcoming film ‘Chhava.’ The actor has been going all out in promoting the film while also revealing intriguing details about his intense preparation for the role.
Director’s Strict Approach to Authenticity
Vicky’s look and transformation for the film have been grabbing a lot of attention. In a recent interview, he revealed that director Laxman Utekar was so particular about the authenticity of Sambhaji Maharaj’s appearance that he refused to begin shooting until Vicky looked like a real warrior.
Speaking to Radio Nasha, Vicky said, “‘Chhava’ has been one of the toughest films of my career. Gaining 25 kilos of muscle was no easy task. It took me seven months to achieve the required physique. Laxman sir was clear from the beginning—no shooting would start until I had mastered horse riding, sword fighting, and action sequences. He told me, ‘I refuse to deceive my audience. I will not rely on VFX.'”
Filming on a Grand Scale
The film’s grandeur goes beyond just Vicky’s transformation. He further revealed, “I had to grow my hair, beard, and completely transform my body before we could even begin filming. On set, when you saw 2000 people, there were actually 2000 people present. We worked with 2000 junior artists and 500 of the country’s best stuntmen. The film has been shot at a very grounded and intense level.”
