Five Key Highlights from J.P. Nadda’s Speech After the Manifesto Release

  1. Congress’s Real Manifesto: Land Scam
Nadda questioned the image of Haryana ten years ago, recalling how job seekers faced rampant corruption and land scams. He claimed that Congress’s real manifesto was to exploit farmers’ lands and manipulate land classifications.
  2. BJP’s Manifesto as a Serious Document
He emphasized that the manifesto is a serious commitment, stating that the BJP stands by its promises. He pointed out the significant growth in Haryana’s exports and the increase in medical colleges and electricity access over the past decade.
  3. Increased Compensation for Farmers
Nadda highlighted that farmers previously received meager compensation of ₹1-2, whereas the current government now provides them with substantial aid. He noted that compensation has increased from ₹6,000 to ₹15,000 per acre.
  4. Expanded MSP Coverage
The government has expanded the minimum support price (MSP) to cover 24 crops, compared to just eight previously. He praised the efforts to improve irrigation and transportation, making travel from Delhi to Haryana significantly faster.
  5. Ninefold Increase in Railway Budget
He announced that the railway budget for Haryana has been increased ninefold under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nadda aimed to clarify the true state of affairs to the public, assuring them that the BJP will fulfill its promises.

State BJP President Mohan Baradoli also expressed confidence in the party’s position for the upcoming elections, noting that the government has delivered on promises made in previous manifestos.

O.P. Dhankhar, chair of the manifesto committee, revealed that they gathered over 200,000 suggestions from the public to create the manifesto, which addresses the needs of various social groups, including women, youth, farmers, and small traders.

Chief Minister Nayan Saini remarked that all promises made in the 2014 manifesto have been fulfilled, and he assured that the party will prioritize youth recruitment as soon as they come to power.

In the previous assembly elections of 2019, the BJP and JJP released separate manifestos. However, after failing to secure a majority, they formed a coalition but could not release a common minimum program (CMP) to fulfill their commitments. The BJP’s 2019 manifesto included 258 promises, which were based on 170,000 public suggestions.
