With the Delhi Assembly elections approaching, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Chief Ministerial candidate, Arvind Kejriwal, has made a bold prediction regarding the party’s performance. He claims that AAP is set to secure 55 seats, and with strong support from women voters, the party could even cross the 60-seat mark. This statement comes just as the election campaign officially came to a halt at 5 PM.
Kejriwal’s Confidence in AAP’s Stronghold
Kejriwal also dismissed BJP’s claims that AAP might struggle to retain key constituencies like New Delhi, Jangpura, and Kalkaji. According to him, AAP is poised to win these seats by a historic margin, refuting any doubts about the party’s dominance in these regions.
Exposing Election Tactics: Kejriwal’s Allegations Against BJP
With just two days left for polling, Kejriwal has released a video statement making serious allegations against the BJP. He revealed that AAP had distributed spy cameras and body cameras in slum areas to document any unethical activities and electoral malpractices allegedly conducted by BJP members.
The AAP leader claimed that while his party is on track for a historic victory, the BJP is staring at its worst electoral defeat in Delhi. As a result, he accused BJP of resorting to unethical means, alleging that BJP workers are attempting to bribe slum dwellers with sums ranging between ₹3,000 and ₹5,000 to prevent them from voting by marking their fingers with ink in advance.
AAP’s Countermeasures: Quick Response Teams in Action
Kejriwal has urged voters to accept the money if offered but to ensure that they do not allow ink to be applied to their fingers before casting their votes. He also warned slum residents that if BJP comes to power, their settlements might be demolished, likening the acceptance of bribes to signing their own destruction warrant.
To counter such alleged electoral fraud, AAP has formed Quick Response Teams that will reach reported locations within 15 minutes to prevent unlawful activities and ensure offenders are arrested. As of now, the BJP has not officially responded to Kejriwal’s accusations.
With tensions running high and allegations flying from both sides, the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections are set to be a crucial political battleground, with both parties vying for voter trust in the national capital.
